Step 3: Find the Stock Content and Add it to Your Video
Using Stock Videos
In the top-left corner, click on Search and type up Stock Videos. Click on it in the results.

This will take you to the Stock Video library, which you’ll see on the left side of the editor.

You can find the perfect video by simply typing up what you’re looking for. For instance, if you want to show a video of someone enjoying a cup of coffee, type in “Person having coffee in a cafe” and you’ll get a ton of results to pick from.
If you’re not sure exactly what to search, you can also browse through the predetermined categories to get inspired or find a video that catches your eye. Check out categories like Business, Aerial, Nature, and more.
To preview a video, hover your cursor over its thumbnail and click on the tiny button with the three-dotted lines. This will lead you to a popup, where you can preview the video and get other details.

If you like the video, click on the Add Video button. The video will now show up in your project timeline. Adjust the footage with the rest of the video on the timeline so it fits smoothly.
Using Stock Music
The right music can help set the perfect vibe for your video. In the top-left corner, click on Search and type up Stock Music. Click on the option that pops up to open the Stock Music library.

The easiest way to search for music is to type in certain keywords to describe the kind of beat you’re looking for. For example, if you’re aiming for a happy vibe, try searching for “upbeat music” and checking the results.

If you’re not sure how to describe the music, you can also scroll through the stock music library until you find that perfect beat. At the top, you can filter results by genre, such as R&B, Jazz, and Blues. Alternatively, you can explore the music by vibe or feel below (such as ambient, cinematic, and inspiring).
To preview a beat, click on the circular play button towards the left-end. You can also save it to your favorites by clicking on the star.
Once you find a song that you like, you can add it to your video project by hovering your cursor over it in the library and clicking on the blue plus “+” button. It’ll take a second or two for the audio to show up on the video timeline.

Once the song is added to the timeline, you can loop it by copying and pasting it on the timeline, or trim it down to fit your video.
Using Sound Effects
A perfectly timed sound effect can go a long way in driving a point home and engaging your viewers. To navigate to the sound effects library, click on Search, type up Sound Effects, and click on the option that appears in the results.

Similar to stock videos and music, the best way to search for suitable sound effects is by typing out what you want in the search bar at the top.
Alternatively, you can also explore the library and browse through the available sound effects, conveniently split into categories like Cartoon, Clicks, and Buzzers, to name a few.
To add a sound effect to your video project, hover your cursor over it in the library and click on the blue plus “+” button. It’ll take a second or two for the audio to show up on the video timeline.

The sound effect will appear next to where the blue arrow is on the timeline. You can adjust it and move it anywhere on your video to time it perfectly.

Step 4: Continue Editing Your Project and Export
VEED is an all-in-one video editor, where you can create, edit, export, and share your videos from scratch.
Once satisfied with your video project, click on Done in the top-right corner of the editor, specify a quality for your video, and click on Export. Depending on the length of your video and the quality of your internet connectivity, it can take anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes for your video to render, after which, you can easily share or download it.
Best Practices for Using Stock Content in Your Videos
Now that you know how to add stock assets to your videos, how do you make the best use of them? Like everything else, using too much or too little of something will do more harm than good. Here are some best practices to help you make the most of the stock assets.
Use Stock Footage That Helps Visualize Your Points
Stock footage can complement your video content, but that doesn’t mean you can add just about any footage to fill in the gaps and keep your audience engaged. Instead, you need to carefully select the videos you want to include. The goal is to help the audience better visualize what you’re explaining in your video.
For instance, if you're making a talking head video walking your audience through a story that took place in the workplace, you could use stock video of an office to help set the scene.
Or maybe you're making a travel video, which would call for some drone footage with good aerial views, while you add voiceovers that takes them on a visual journey.
In short, if you have a point you can illustrate through supplemental footage you might want to explore the stock video library.
Perfect Your Videos with the Right Music and Sound Effects
The right type of music, coupled with perfectly timed sound effects, can really go a long way in making your videos engaging.
Music is great to set an emotional undertone that matches the storyline.
For example, if your video starts referencing something serious or stressful before moving on to something positive you could pick a dark and moody song for the intro and an upbeat one as you transition into the positive segment of the story.
As for sound effects, think of what you’re saying or showing in your video that you could make more obvious. For instance, if you’re talking about typing a script, you could accentuate your point by adding the sound of someone typing on a keyboard or typewriter.
Maybe you made an intentionally awkward joke and you cue the sound effect of crickets or a booing audience.
Or maybe you just dropped a knowledge bomb where the music comes to a halt and in comes the sound of an explosion to drive the point of your knowledge bomb home.
