How to Remove the Background from Your Video with VEED

Open VEED and click on the Login button. If you don’t already have an account, you can create a free or paid VEED account by clicking on the Sign Up button.  

Once you log in, you’ll see your VEED dashboard. Click on Create Project and a new window will pop up where you can upload the video you want to remove the background from.

VEED offers convenient options to upload a video to its online editor:

• Click on Upload a file to browse your device and select the video you want to remove the background from, or simply drag and drop it in the window. Alternatively, you can also add a video from your Dropbox here, or upload  a Twitch or TikTok video via a link. 

• Click Record Video to use our screen recorder to record and then our editor to edit. Select the layout that suits your needs best—record your screen and camera together, or record only your screen, camera, slides, or audio.

Once your file is uploaded to the editor, toggle over to the bottom of the screen and click on the video in the timeline. This will open the Edit Video tab on the left-hand side of the screen where you can do a host of things with your video, including removing the background.

Scroll down in the Edit Video tab and click on Remove Background. Give it a couple of seconds if you have a longer video and VEED will automatically remove the background from your video in a single click. 

Once done, you can either:

• Upload another photo or video as the background for your video. To do this, click on Media in the toolbar, and then click on Upload a File to browse and open the new background from your system.

• Place one of VEED’s ready-to-use background templates to your video. To do this, click on Elements in the toolbar and scroll down to Backgrounds. Click on View All to look at all the options available to you and click on the one that looks best. Once you’re ready to export your file, click on Done in the top-right corner of the editor, and specify the desired quality of your video by choosing from our ready-to-use presets. Once done, click on Export Video.
